iOS and macOS users – make sure your WhatsApp is updated

Apple users should make sure that their WhatsApp is updated, there is a Zero-Day attack exploit has been addressed by WhatsApp, the vulnerability marked as CVE-2025-55177 is exploited in the wild in relation to a security flaw in zero-day attacks on Apple devices.

This security flaw affects the following versions:

  • WhatsApp on iOS versions prior to version 2.25.21.73 – This version has been patched on 28th of July 2025.
  • WhatsApp on Mac versions prior to version 2.25.21.78 – This version has been patched on 4th of August 2025
  • WhatsApp Business on iOS version 2.25.21.78 – This version has been patched on 4th of August 2025

    Make sure that your WhatsApp is updated to the latest version, please follow the below steps:

    For iOS (iPhone or iPad):

    1. Go to the App Sore
    2. Just search for WhatsApp
    3. If you see the Update button, it means that your WhatsApp is not updated, you should tap on it immediately.

    For macOS (iMac or MacBook):

    1. Visit the official website for WhatsApp by click here
    2. Delete the Old version
    3. Install the new WhatsApp version that you just downloaded
    4. You need to verify the version by following the below steps:
      • Open WhatsApp.
      • Click on About WhatsApp
      • Check the version and make sure that you installed 2.25.21.78 or later.

    You should always update Your WhatsApp and all other applications to protect from any possible zero-day attacks.
